K.C. Stock and his son Brian, Chairman and CEO of Stock Development, come from a long history of new home development. Originally from northern Wisconsin, The Stock Family has nearly six decades of building experience, beginning when K.C.’s father opened Stock Lumber Company. The lumberyard eventually expanded into a family-owned chain operating across the upper Midwest.

K.C.’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the diversification of family operations and he now serves as the CEO of KCS International, Inc., the manufacturer of Cruiser Yachts, Shamrock and Rampage boats. This Wisconsin and North Carolina based company employs more than 950 people. K.C. is also the CEO of Schweiger Furniture, a Wisconsin-based company with 250 employees.

In the mid-90’s Naples attracted K.C.’s attention and he became a part-time resident and an investor in Southwest Florida real estate properties, including neighborhoods within Pelican Landing and The Colony.

In 1996, K.C. expanded his Naples area interests by becoming a partner and the sole investor in Olde Cypress. He continued his expansion in 1999 by becoming the sole investor in Grandézza.
By 2002, K.C., along with a member of the third generation of the Stock Family - his son Brian- decided to form Stock Development and entered the Southwest Florida Real Estate market as a major development company. Their first endeavor was the purchase of 340 developable acres in the southern half of Lely Golf & Country Club. In its first year of operations, Stock Development oversaw $50 million in new home sales and resales within Lely Resort. By assuming ownership of both Olde Cypress and Grandézza, the firm has quickly established itself as a growing force with a specialization in Country Club Communities.

In September 2003 Stock Development purchased the remaining 1500 acres within Lely Resort. The acquisition gives Stock Development control over all the development in the 2,800 acre plus community. The purchase cements Stock Development’s position as one of the foremost country club developers in Southwest Florida, said Claudine Leger-Wetzel, Director of Marketing.

Today, Stock Development has plans for three new communities: Olé in Naples, Paseo in Ft. Myers and Vivante at Punta Gorda and is the parent company of Stock Construction, Lely Resort Realty LLC, which also includes a resale division, Olde Cypress Realty LLC and its resale division, The Club at Olde Cypress, Grandézza Realty LLC, The Club at Grandézza, Stock Realty, which includes a Rental Division, Serenity Pool & Spa, as well as Stock Financial.
